No "Open Anyway" button? Files received through messaging apps like WhatsApp get an extra lock from macOS. Open Terminal (Applications → Utilities), paste this and press Return:
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/Dock Companion.app"It only removes the "downloaded from the internet" flag from this app. Downloading straight from your browser skips this step.

Yes. On a side Dock it walks along the wall. With auto-hide on, it walks along the edge of the screen and hops up when the Dock appears.
Without permission, the app estimates your Dock's size and keeps a small margin. From the menu bar, turn on "Use exact Dock position" and allow the app under Accessibility.
Click your character's head in the menu bar and turn on "Open at login".
Make a new one here and click Install on Mac again. It replaces the previous one.
